How Hardware Keyloggers Works January 3, 2025

Do you know what keyloggers is? A keylogger is mainly a
program which runs in computer silently and secretly recording all the
keystrokes of the user. They used a method of recording and capturing
user’s keystrokes including passwords. Once after the key strokes are
logged for the latter retrieval by the attacker they are hidden away.
Keyloggers are basically of two types, it can be software or hardware
based.

Hardware based keyloggers are generally more complex
that software keyloggers and is much hard to detect. In today’s world
keyloggers are the most powerful applications used for gathering
information commonly by encrypted traffic.

There are some features common in all hardware keyloggers, as they all must have-

A non-volatile memory device
– Non volatile memory such as flash memory uses to store all the
recorded information and retains them even when power is lost.

A microcontroller
– It is the heart of keyloggers which interrupts the data strea,
between the computer and keyboard and posses it and then sends to the
memory for storing.

How hardware keyloggers works?

Hardware keyloggers are implemented via BIOS level firmware or through a
device plug-in between the computer and computer keyboard. They have
inbuilt memory which is use to store all the log keyboard activity for
later encryption use. Almost in all cases the recorded data is retrieved
by typing some kinds of special words or special password into a text
editor of the computer which after detecting by the keyloggers send to
the computer to produce a menu. Apart from producing menu some of the
keyloggers provide high speed download which stimulate the retrieval
process of stored data.

Hardware keyloggers provides huge storage capacity typical the memory
capacity of range of few kilobytes to hundreds gigabytes in which each
keystroke record consume just a byte of memory space.

Types:-

Regular keylogger
– Here keystrokes in logged in by means of a hardware device attached
between computer and keyboard and it is not dependent upon operating
system of computer thus does not interfere any program running on the
target machine.

Firmware – It is a computer
BIOS responsible for handling keystrokes and can be reprogrammed in
order to record keystrokes and to posses them.

Wireless sniffers
– It collects the packet of data transferring from wireless keyboard to
computer or receiver and then crack the encryption key in order to make
the wireless communication secure

Hardware keylogger supports
all sorts of operating system and thus you can use it in any computer at
any time. If you are looking for a simple and fruitful keyloggers then
this will be the best choice for you.

Digital Signage Bringing a Personal Touch to Advertising December 25, 2024

Digital Signage is a form of out of home advertising which is
gaining popularity globally. Dynamic in nature, this solution can send
across relevant information in real time and that too to target
consumers at specific locations. Even though the initial investment is
high, the return on investment is much higher compared to the static,
print medium of advertising since content can be updated without
additional expenditure. This medium reduces the cost associated with the
static medium and provides enhanced flexibility along with complete
control. It also offers the opportunity to generate revenue by promoting
products and also creates brand awareness and generates customer
loyalty.
Consisting of software, hardware and content, digital
signage solutions allow updating of content from any location. Some
applications require manual updating of content as needed, through a
scheduling system, or by linking in with an outside feed so that
appropriate messages are displayed. This content can be in the form of
text messages, video, audio, animations or data. On the other hand,
software solutions are built on Microsoft Windows technology and do not
require any proprietary hardware. Compatible with all industry standard
file formats, such as Flash files, Video, HTML, QuickTime, Microsoft
Office, and JPG, they allow content delivery using standard TCP/IP
protocols resulting in cost efficiency, reliability and faster
deployment on any network.
The Digital signage hardware is the
device on which the content is displayed. This can be in the form of
Video Walls, LCD or Plasma display, Multimedia Kiosks and Projectors. In
order to successfully deploy the signage solution (hardware, software
and content), it is important to have a thorough understanding of the
network and bandwidth availability. The system which is being used
should be able to operate on the network without affecting normal
operations. A user needs to evaluate costs and the benefits of deploying
this medium in his respective sector and needs to ensure that the
solution being used has the capacity to accommodate growth irrespective
of how diverse or complex the future requirements may be.
An
amalgamation of electronic displays, information technology and media,
the digital signage solution offers a state of the art experience to
consumers. Due to its ability to provide real time updated information,
this technology is being used not only for advertising but also in the
travel sector, government, military and commercial establishments,
hospitals and entertainment facilities, banking and finance sectors as
well as in educational institutions.

Cabinet Hardware and the Power of Clean December 15, 2024

Question: What’s worse than a messy home? Answer: Dirty kitchen cabinet hardware

Explanation:
Why? Because it makes your home look messy even when it’s not. The
amount of dirt and grime that collects on these frequently used items is
unbelievable. Fortunately, the solution is as simple as the situation
is grave. The one thing you have to know is what easy breezy method to
use on which of your cabinet knobs and cabinet pulls. Once again, fate
is on your side, because we have the answers right here. Read on for
kitchen cabinet hardware cleaning instructions that can be done in less
than an hour.

Note: Nearly all quality cabinet
hardware today is finished with a protective coating. For kitchen
cabinet hardware that does not have this special finish, alternative
methods may be necessary for cleaning (see “Special Finishes” below).
Consult the manufacturer if you are unsure of your hardware finish.

Wood Cabinet Knobs & Pulls-
Cleaning wood cabinet hardware is not a difficult task. Here is what to
do. Using a damp, soapy cloth, rub the surface of these cabinet knobs
and pulls until the dirt is removed. Extra tough build up might be
harder to scrub off, so try a plastic scrub brush, an old toothbrush or
any other brush with soft bristles. Just don’t use anything metal, as it
will scratch the finish and the pieces badly.

Plastic, Metal & Glass Cabinet Hardware-
If you thought wood cabinet hardware was easy, you are going to love
this next one. Plastic, metal and glass cabinet hardware are all super
simple to clean. Soak the cabinet knobs, cabinet pulls and cabinet
hinges in a mild soap and water solution for a few minutes. Use that
toothbrush to loosen any tough particles of dirt. Rinse the pieces
individually when finished, and polish dry with a soft, clean and
lint-free cloth. Buff your glass hardware with newspaper for an added
clarity and shine. Plastic and metal cabinet hinges, knobs and pulls can
also use a good buffing with a soft cloth. How’s that for simplicity?

Special Finishes- As noted above, the
majority of cabinet knobs, cabinet pulls and cabinet hinges today are
coated with a durable satin finish. This increases longevity and gives
the cabinet hardware a lovely appearance. There are, however, some types
of cabinet knobs and pulls that do not receive this coating on purpose.
This untouched hardware, known as a living finish, ages with time to
create a beautiful patina that people love. Such cabinet pulls and knobs
have to be treated with care in order to prevent damaging or
discoloring the hardware. Pewter cabinet hardware is particularly soft,
so polish gently. Also, don’t rub your bronze or pewter hardware too
hard because you will remove the elegant coloring that it took so long
to develop. A salted lemon slice can help clean copper, brass or bronze,
and aluminum foil and water will bring that exhilarating shine back to
chrome.

Extra Tips and Tricks:

Never use steel wool, brillo pads or any other harsh metal on your cabinet hardware because it will ruin the surface.

If you need to scrub, only use soft bristled brushes like a standard toothbrush or plastic scrubber.

Weathered
and antique pewter cabinet hinges, knobs and pulls should not be
polished, as the polish will ruin the style of these finishes.

Keep all your screws in one place, a Ziploc bag or small jar, so they don’t get lost in the shuffle.

On the subject, be sure to clean any of the screws that you will be able to see when all the pieces are back up.

And
finally, take advantage of this opportunity and clean the entire
surface of your cabinet front. You are going to love the way your home
looks after your kitchen cabinet hardware and cabinetry is cleaned. Not
only will the room shine with that fresh, clean glow, but it will feel
better too. Start feeling better today with this 1-2-3 home improvement
project.

Basic Parts of Cpmputer Hardware December 12, 2024

If
you are using a desktop computer, you may already know that there isn’t
any single part known as a “computer”. A computer is a system of
several parts working together. The physical parts which you could see
and touch are jointly known as hardware. There are some computer
hardware parts which collectively form a computer.

Computer Hardware Parts:
System Unit

The system unit is the heart of a computer system. Generally, it’s a
rectangular box placed on or beneath your desk. There are several
electronic components which process information inside this box. The
most vital of these components is the central processing unit (CPU), or
microprocessor, which acts as the brain of your computer. Another
component is the RAM or the random access memory which temporarily
stores data that the CPU uses while the computer is on. When the
computer is turned off, the information stored in RAM gets erased.

Hard Disk Drive

Your computer’s hard disk drive stores data on a hard disk, a firm
plate or stack of plates with a magnetic surface. The hard disks
normally serve as your computer’s primary means of storage, holding
almost all of your programs and files as it can hold enormous amounts of
information. The hard disk is usually located inside the system unit.

DVD and CD Drives

Almost all computers today come equipped with a DVD or CD drive,
generally located on the front of the system unit. CD drives use lasers
to read or retrieve data from a CD and several CD drives could also
write or record data onto CDs. DVD drives could do everything that CD
drives can plus they can also read DVDs. If you have a DVD drive, you
could watch movies on your computer. Several DVD drives could record
data onto blank DVDs.

Floppy Disk Drive
Floppy disk drives
store information on floppy disks, also known as floppies or diskettes.
Floppy disks compared to CDs and DVDs can store only a small amount of
data. They also recover information more slowly and are more prone to
damage. For these reasons, floppy disk drives are less admired than they
used to be, though some computers still include them.
