With the motive of utilizing and leveraging niche frontier technologies
available with the central science department and institutions,

NECTAR ensures to apply appropriate technology for the upliftment in
the areas of biodiversity concerns, watershed management, telemedicine,
horticulture, infrastructure planning and development, planning and
monitoring and tele-schooling.

With a clear vision of being the
leader of Centre and Foster, NECTAR India abides to nurture and ensure
the delivery and use of technology applications for masses and social
good. Aiming to reach and expand the merits of technology amongst the
people, institutions and government exclusive social and economic
development of the North-East India.

Chairman of the governing
Council Dr. T. Ramasami with several other partners brings states like
Assam, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura etc together to deliver NE
technology and serve people of the North East India by introducing
efficient and productive technology sectors like Agriculture and
Agri-business, Horticulture, Bamboo related Applications, Land use and
natural resources management, Water Basin and Watershed management
Solutions, Technology Applications in Health and Education, IT and
communication tools, products and technologies, Technology products for
improving safety and security, Monitoring tools for social sector
schemes and programs of the Government and several others.

NECTAR India with the help of NE technology is running several projects
successfully. Where Meshnet is a networking enabling individual nodes
in not only capturing its own data but also acts as a relay for other
nodes. It is collaborate to propagate the data in network, the SDR
communication platform is used to provide long distance communication
using legacy and modern protocols. This makes the platform not only
efficient compatible with most legacy equipment in service today.
Another project called Thin net is ARM based device which runs android
that can be plugged into the display of TV with an HDMI port efficiently
enabling it as a thin client. Also the NECTAR India runs some very
environment necessity projects like flood modeling. Where the prime
focus is to render Real-time flood monitoring and forecast the river
gauge data and discharges in the downstream river where the actual flood
events take place, based on hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling. Other
projects like the Bamboo Board, Processing Technologies for Ginger and
Turmeric, Agarbatti Marketing and Preservation of Natural Dye Yielding
Plants are prominent enough to strengthen the North-East India
environment.

The successful programs running with NECTAR India
are Technology Outreach and Services Scheme (TOSS) and Bamboo
Applications and Support Scheme (BAANS). TOSS is a document inviting
project proposals from interested parties in accordance with the details
of substance and procedures of a scheme that has been prepared by
NECTAR for implementation in furtherance of its objects and prescribed
mandate.

And BAANS deals with one of the natural resource that
constitutes the social and economic life and culture of the North East
India, the Bamboo. BAANS is an initiate to generate employment, create
sustainable livelihoods and incomes, especially among the poor and
disadvantaged groups, including women in the North East. The Types of
activities performed are technology delivery and services, product
design and improvement, Quality standards and certification, skills
training, common facilities and pooling of infrastructure support,
marketing consolidation, export standards, operation of revolving funds,
tools design and delivery, equipments for bridging technology gaps,
technology assets maintenance and servicing support.
